Steady Aim and React rule
This is just something that came up while I was playing the game using the 'Learn to Play Set' with Merc and Elves
If I use the action card 'Steady Aim' (target an item, complete Dexterity check to destroy the item, if you fail the targeted character may perform a melee strike) and I fail this, would I be able to use Amatria Tansiq's react (mercenary deck), which is a poison check? Amatria Tansiq is the character failing to use Steady Aim, just incase that was unclear.

Yes.
Amy uses Steady Aim and fails. Opponent performs melee strike that hits and kills Amy. Amy gets to React and have character make a DC 12 or wound.
