Level 7 - Item - Wizard
React: Before targeting a spell: Succeed with a spellcraft check (DC 18 + the spell's Level) to allow the spell to target an additional rank away.

Magic Missiles
Level 1 - Action - Wizard
Spend Order: Perform a number of +0 ranged strikes equal to this wizard's Level. These strikes may not receive any bonuses to the die roll.

Before I target each strike of the spell, can I make a check to increase the rank for every strike and target a rank farther back for each successful save?

Level 6 - Item - Rogue
+1 ATK
If this rogue is a Bard, he may perform Fire actions regardless of class restrictions.
React: Before targeting a strike, discard a card: The strike gains +3 to the die roll, is a Fire action and a spell.

If a character has both item equipped and is performing a strike; can the character react with the Dragon Pipes first making the strike a spell, then react with the Extension Scrolls and target a rank farther away?

1. Hmmm, it looks like you can set up a fairly long range MM with this. Each strike is creating a new targetting trigger, however the effect applies to the spell as a whole. So first successful check lets you target +1 rank, next check +2 ranks etc.

However, I think the answer is: there is only one trigger which occurs on the first time you target the spell. Well, it feels like this should be the answer but I can't think why it would actually be ruled this way. As each strike creaes a new trigger imo.

so if I target a melle strike that is a spell, what is the level of that spell?

If it doesn't come from an action card or have an explicit level, use 0.

Dragon Pipes and Extension Scroll - thumbs up, go ahead and extend the range of that strike.

Extension Scroll and spells like Magic Missile - not as certain.
Is targeting a strike from a spell the same as targeting a spell?
And if so, are you still 'before targeting the spell' when the second strike rolls around - or haven't you already done so?

I'll poke my compatriots about the MM aspect.
